Before you open a single free streaming site, do this setup. It takes 10 minutes and makes every site on FreeLinkDrop significantly safer and less annoying.
Step 1: Install uBlock Origin (5 minutes, mandatory)
Go to the uBlock Origin website and install it for your browser. It's available for Chrome, Firefox, and Edge.
What it does:
- Blocks pop-up ads and pop-unders
- Removes fake play buttons that redirect you to malware
- Stops auto-play video ads
- Blocks most tracker scripts
Default settings are fine. You don't need to configure anything.
Step 2: VPN (optional, but useful for geo-restricted content)
You don't need a VPN for most sites on this index. You only need one if a site is tagged with specific country codes and you're not in one of those countries.
Recommended: Mullvad. It's paid (€5/month), but it's the most privacy-respecting VPN available — no email required to sign up, anonymous payment options, and a proven no-logs policy.
Free VPNs are not recommended. They typically sell your browsing data, which defeats the purpose.
Step 3: Media player (optional, for downloaded content)
If you're playing stream URLs or local files, VLC handles everything. It's free, plays any format, and supports network streams directly via URL (Media → Open Network Stream).
That's it
uBlock Origin installed means you're ready to use any site on this index. See the full tools page for everything listed with ratings and links.
